The "Desert Legends"
series was initiated to preserve the legacy of the Egyptian Arabian
and its foundation horses for future generations of breeders.
The series began in 2000 with a video honoring *Ansata Ibn Halima,
which debuted at the Saturday evening grand Finale of the Egyptian
Event.
The following year, a video tribute to *Morafic was
completed, and in 2002 the Foundation celebrated the venerable
foundation mare *Maaroufa.
The 2003 Desert Legend Honoree was Nabiel (*Sakr X *Magidaa),
and the Foundation produced a video as part of the special of this
distinguished stallion and his legacy. The 1974 U.S. National
Champion Futurity Colt and U.S. National Top Ten Stallion in 1975
and 1976, Nabiel was also a breeding barn superstar, siring 697
purebred registered foals. Among them are 12 National purebred
winners, as well as 67 Egyptian Event, Class A, and regional
purebred winners in halter, dressage, English pleasure, native
costume, western pleasure, and endurance.
Watch here for more information on future installments of the "Desert Legends" series. |
